Terms of Service

Welcome to HalalFree. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the HalalFree mobile application (the “App”) operated by HalalFree (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Account Registration

• You may create an account using your email address, or by signing in with Apple or Google.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent.

3. Use of the App

3.1 Permitted Use

The App is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may use the App to browse listings, view the map, save favourites, submit reviews, suggest new venues, and access other features as they become available.

3.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content, including fake reviews or inaccurate venue suggestions.
• Harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten other users.
• Post content that is discriminatory, hateful, obscene, or offensive.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, other user accounts, or our systems.
• Use the App to scrape, crawl, or collect data through automated means.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

4. User-Generated Content

4.1 Your Content

The App allows you to submit content including reviews, ratings, venue suggestions, feedback, and profile information (collectively, “User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the App.

4.2 Content Standards

You agree that your User Content will not:

• Contain false or misleading information.
• Infringe any third party’s intellectual property or other rights.
• Contain defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, or harassing material.
• Include personal information about another person without their consent.
• Contain spam, advertising, or promotional material.

4.3 Moderation

We reserve the right to review, moderate, edit, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion, including content that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We provide mechanisms for users to report inappropriate content and to block other users.

5. Listing Information

The App provides information about food venues, including addresses, categories, and verification status. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that all listing information is complete, current, or error-free. Listing data is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.

Venue details such as menus, opening hours, and food sourcing practices may change without notice. We encourage you to verify information directly with the venue before visiting.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

• The App may offer auto-renewable subscriptions to access premium features.
• All subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information.
• Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

All payments are subject to Apple’s Terms and Conditions.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by HalalFree and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

The HalalFree name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• Apple — for authentication (Sign in with Apple), payments, and MapKit geocoding services.
• Google — for authentication (Sign in with Google).
• Mapbox — for map rendering and display.
• Supabase — for data storage and authentication infrastructure.

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the App. When you delete your account, all associated personal data — including your profile, reviews, favourites, and feedback — will be permanently removed. This action is irreversible.

If you have an active subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings before or after deleting your account to avoid further charges.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• The results obtained from the use of the App will be accurate or reliable.
• Any information provided through the App (including venue listings) is complete, accurate, or current.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HalalFree shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HalalFree, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

• Your use of the App.
• Your User Content.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Your infringement of any third party’s rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
